Buyer – Procurement & Planning

About the role

The Buyer will join a fast‑paced, operationally focused team within Nigel Wright Group, supporting a complex domestic and international supply chain. Reporting to the Head of Procurement and Planning, you will manage day‑to‑day purchasing of materials and services to meet production demand.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and manage purchase orders in line with demand and production schedules.
• Maintain accurate ERP/MRP data on lead times, pricing and order confirmations.
• Monitor supplier delivery schedules, ensuring on‑time delivery and continuity of supply.
• Build and sustain effective supplier relationships, supporting negotiations on cost, service levels and commercial terms.
• Track and report supplier performance (OTIF, quality, lead times) and escalate issues as needed.
• Collaborate with Planning, Production and Logistics to align supply with demand.
• Identify and mitigate supply risks, expediting orders when required.
• Contribute to cost‑reduction and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Buyer or similar procurement role within manufacturing or an operational environment.
• Exposure to international suppliers and supplier performance management.
• Strong organisational ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.
• Commercial awareness with a solutions‑focused mindset.
• Effective communication skills for internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems.
