About the role
A successful manufacturing business requires a Buyer to join its dynamic procurement team. The Buyer will manage day‑to‑day supplier relationships and ensure the effective flow of goods and materials to meet production plans, working closely with quality, logistics, engineering and finance stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities across direct materials for manufacturing.
- Plan, schedule and re‑schedule purchase orders.
- Build and maintain supplier relationships, manage the order book, expedite orders and mitigate risks.
- Contribute to procurement savings and process‑improvement targets.
- Own purchasing, inventory and supplier data within the MRP/ERP system.
Required profile
- Previous purchasing, supply chain or materials control experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems.
- Proven ability to improve supplier performance and relationships.
- Commercial acumen and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced production setting.
