Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

Monzo is looking for a Buyer to join its evolving Procurement team. The role will focus on a defined spend category, delivering strong sourcing and commercial outcomes while operating with a high degree of autonomy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end sourcing processes for the assigned category, managing competitive events and negotiations.
• Balance risk, cost, value and long‑term strategy to make sound commercial decisions.
• Own contract execution, renewal planning and timeline management.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into robust commercial solutions and challenge where necessary.
• Align and realign stakeholders to maintain clarity, momentum and confident decision‑making.
• Identify and deliver opportunities to improve commercial outcomes through insight and independent thinking.

Required profile

• Strong procurement fundamentals with the ability to apply them in new contexts.
• Demonstrated independent execution, sound judgement and stakeholder leadership.
• Willingness to develop deeper category expertise over time.
