Buying & Procurement Coordinator (Engineering)

About the role

The Buying & Procurement Coordinator will support a leading engineering firm by managing the purchase of stock, resale materials and general business supplies. You will work closely with the Group Purchasing Manager to ensure competitive pricing, compliance and timely delivery across a range of engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Source stock, resale materials and general supplies while adhering to approved supplier agreements.
• Collaborate with the Group Purchasing Manager to review current and future stock requirements, balancing cost, quality and delivery.
• Monitor stock usage, forecast demand and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers and internal stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve supplier agreements and negotiate competitive pricing.
• Track supplier performance against delivery schedules and service standards.
• Support inventory management, including stock locations, transaction processing, works orders, job costing and bill of materials administration.
• Contribute to cycle counts and perpetual stock‑check programmes to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Ensure all purchasing and stock‑related transactions comply with company procedures.

Required profile

• Ability to work core hours: Monday‑Thursday 8 am‑5 pm and Friday until 1 pm.
• Depends on experience (DOE).
