C++ Software Developer – Bristol

About the role

As a member of the Research and Development team, you will build and maintain releases of our Prism suite applications, delivering new functionality and fixing bugs. You will collaborate closely with the testing team to ensure each release meets quality standards, working with C++, Microsoft Foundation Classes and cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and add new features according to specifications.
• Deliver high-quality, reliable software.
• Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback.
• Respond to internal queries about software functionality.
• Serve as a technical resource for internal teams.
• Implement and test upgrades to third-party libraries.
• Create internal tools to improve development efficiency.

Required profile

• Motivated to grow in bespoke software development.
• Innovative, self-driven problem solver.
• Understanding of data security and confidentiality.
• Clear, confident written and verbal communication.
• Ability to follow structured procedures and handle sensitive information.

Required skills

• Minimum 12 months commercial experience in C++ development.
• Experience working closely with other developers and testing teams.
• Willingness to embrace change and new ideas.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Desirable: C#, Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC), Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure.
