CAD Designer – Autodesk & Metal Fabrication

About the role

We are seeking a skilled CAD Designer to join a specialist metalwork manufacturer in Winchester. The role involves creating detailed 2D and 3D designs for high‑end bespoke projects across residential, hospitality and commercial sectors. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure designs are production‑ready and meet the exacting standards of our prestigious clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 2D and 3D CAD models using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD from concept through to manufacture.
• Produce accurate fabrication drawings and comprehensive technical documentation.
• Interpret architectural drawings, engineering specifications and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with estimation, production, procurement and project teams to align design intent with manufacturing capabilities.
• Support projects through design, detailing and hand‑over to the manufacturing floor.
• Attend occasional site visits to verify that designs are correctly implemented on‑site.

Required profile

• Proven experience in CAD design within metal fabrication, sheet‑metal, structural steel or related manufacturing environments.
• Strong ability to translate architectural and engineering information into manufacturing‑ready drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high‑quality outputs.
• Ability to work effectively in an office‑based setting while supporting occasional on‑site activities.
