CAD Drafter – Mechanical Design (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a CAD Drafter to join a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation in Reading. Working in a hybrid setting, you will create accurate 2D and 3D engineering drawings and models, supporting the design and development of new products.

Key responsibilities

• Produce 2D and 3D CAD drawings and assemblies using industry‑standard software.
• Generate parts lists, technical documentation and assist with engineering change processes.
• Collaborate with Production, Purchasing and Quality teams to ensure designs are manufacturable.
• Support the full product development lifecycle across multiple engineering projects.

Required profile

• Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Drafting, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD Inventor or similar 3D modelling packages.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and ability to interpret technical information.
• Knowledge of electrical drawings, wiring diagrams or ERP systems is advantageous.
