Cafe Chef – Full‑time

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Cafe Chef to join Tesco’s vibrant café kitchen in Redruth. You will be responsible for preparing and storing food safely while delivering tasty meals that keep customers coming back.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare menu items and ensure consistent quality and presentation.
• Manage food storage, stock rotation and adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow health‑and‑safety procedures.
• Work efficiently to meet service speed targets during busy periods.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve kitchen processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Previous experience working in a busy café or restaurant kitchen.
• Ability to work well in a team and support colleagues.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality food and excellent customer service.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Basic kitchen equipment operation (e.g., ovens, grills, slicers).
• Ability to follow recipes and portion control guidelines.
