Capital & Estates Contract Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Capital & Estates Contract Manager to join a high‑performing NHS environment in Gloucestershire. This pivotal commercial role will oversee a portfolio of complex, high‑value contracts covering capital projects, estates and facilities services, ensuring value for money and robust governance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end management of high‑value contracts across capital, estates and facilities.
• Monitor supplier performance against KPIs, quality standards and financial frameworks.
• Identify and remediate risks, under‑performance and compliance issues.
• Provide expert commercial and contractual advice to operational and corporate stakeholders.
• Manage contract variations with appropriate governance and financial scrutiny.
• Support procurement activities including tendering, mobilisation and contract transitions.
• Drive supplier relationship management and performance review processes.
• Contribute to commercial reporting, dashboards and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with public‑sector procurement regulations and internal governance requirements.

Required profile

• Commercially astute professional with experience managing complex, high‑value contracts.
• Strong understanding of public‑sector procurement, governance frameworks and commercial best practice.
• Proven ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders across operational and corporate functions.
• Experience in supplier management, performance monitoring and dispute resolution.
• Excellent financial acumen with the ability to analyse budgets and contract performance.
• Highly organised with the capacity to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship‑management skills.
• Ideally CIPS qualified (Level 5+) or equivalent commercial qualification.
