Car Trade Operative – Port Vehicle Handling

About the role
The Bristol Port Company is seeking Car Trade Operatives to join its premier car handling port. You will work on a 24/7 operation, moving vehicles on and off vessels and between compounds while supporting other port activities as needed.
Key responsibilities
- Drive motor vehicles on and off ships and between port compounds
- Lash and unlash vehicles securely
- Marshal drivers within operational areas
- Monitor and maintain quality standards for vehicle handling
- Assist with other port trades when required
Required profile
- Physically fit for long periods of walking and manual lifting
- Positive, enthusiastic attitude
- Strong awareness of customer quality requirements
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Legal right to work in the United Kingdom
Required skills
- Driving motor vehicles in a port environment
- Vehicle lashing and unlashing techniques
- Marshalling and directing drivers
