Care Assistant – Complex Care (Darlington)

About the role

Join a Barchester complex care home in Darlington and help residents with advanced conditions such as dementia, multiple sclerosis, neuro‑rehabilitation needs and Huntington's disease. You will provide personalised daily support, companionship and ensure each resident enjoys a high quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Assist residents with food, drink and personal care according to individual care plans.
• Provide one‑to‑one time and emotional support to promote wellbeing.
• Support residents with specialised needs, including dementia and neuro‑rehabilitation.
• Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment in newly refurbished units.
• Collaborate with senior staff and follow care home policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience caring for older adults or people with complex health needs.
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, warm‑hearted approach.
• Ability to work flexibly within a team‑oriented environment.
