Care Assistant – Days (Alton)

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic Care Assistants to join our Alton residential home on day shifts. You will help create a warm, family‑like environment for our residents while delivering high‑quality personal care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide person‑centred personal care and support, respecting each resident’s choices.
• Act as a key‑worker for assigned residents, assisting nurses with care‑plan documentation.
• Support residents when they are unwell or approaching end of life.
• Record observations, report changes, and maintain accurate shift logs.
• Communicate with families, keeping them informed while respecting confidentiality.
• Collaborate with the Activities Team to organise group and one‑to‑one activities.
• Liaise with external agencies such as GPs, social services, and therapists as needed.

Required profile

• Passionate about delivering excellent care and treating residents like family.
• Good communication skills, reliable, and a strong team player.
• Natural affinity for working with older adults.
• NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care is desirable but not essential.
• Previous care experience is helpful but not mandatory; comprehensive training is provided.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of health and social care practices.
