Care Assistant – Dementia Care Unit

About the role

Join the Oaklea Dementia Care Unit within Ashlea Court Care Home and provide compassionate, person‑centred support to residents living with advanced dementia and complex health needs. This full‑time, temporary contract offers both day‑shift and night‑shift options in a supportive, homely environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe, consistent personal care and assistance with daily living activities.
• Follow individual care plans and support structured routines to promote stability.
• Monitor residents’ physical and emotional wellbeing, reporting any changes promptly.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure high‑quality, clinically led care.
• Maintain a calm, respectful atmosphere that upholds dignity and independence.

Required profile

• A caring, compassionate and respectful attitude.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Patience, resilience and a calm approach to challenging situations.
• Willingness to learn and develop within a complex care environment.
• Previous experience in care or mental health is beneficial but not essential.

What we offer

• £13.60 per hour, 33‑44 hours per week.
