Care Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Care and Support Assistant to provide dedicated support to a gentleman with autism in Taunton. The role focuses on building a trusting relationship, understanding his individual needs, and promoting his independence and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a positive, professional relationship with the client and his family.
• Assist with daily living activities, encouraging independence.
• Support social and community engagement for the client.
• Provide care and support to other service users within the service as required.
• Communicate updates and collaborate with family members to ensure a consistent, person‑centred approach.

Required profile

• Kind, compassionate and genuinely passionate about helping others.
• Strong people skills and ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Minimum 12 months remaining on right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
• Flexibility to work alternating weekends.
