Care Assistant – Nights

About the role

We are looking for compassionate Care Assistants to join our Alton care home on night shifts. You will help residents feel safe, respected and at home while providing high‑quality personal care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver person‑centred personal care and support to residents, including end‑of‑life care when needed.
• Act as a key‑worker for assigned residents, assisting nurses with care‑plan documentation and updates.
• Record observations, report changes, and maintain accurate shift logs.
• Provide information and reassurance to residents' families while respecting confidentiality.
• Collaborate with the Activities Team to organise engaging group and one‑to‑one activities.
• Liaise with external agencies such as GPs, social services and therapists on behalf of residents.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for caring for older people and a commitment to our values.
• Good communication, reliability and teamwork skills.
• NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care is desirable but not essential.
• Willingness to learn and undertake training provided by the employer.

• £13.38‑£13.72 per hour (plus 10% night/weekend premium).
