Care Assistant – Nursing & Dementia Home

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Care Assistant to join Aspen Court Nursing and Dementia Care Home in Taunton. You will work in a modern, purpose‑built facility providing specialist nursing, dementia and complex care for up to 42 residents.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver person‑centred care in line with individual care plans, supporting residents with advanced dementia, mental health conditions and long‑term health challenges.
• Assist with daily living activities, medication prompts, and monitoring of physical and emotional wellbeing.
• Maintain a calm, safe environment by following structured routines and responding to changes in behaviour.
• Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure consistent, high‑quality care.

Required profile

• Kind, respectful and patient attitude with a genuine desire to help vulnerable adults.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work day or night shifts, including alternate weekends.
• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or a commitment to obtain the qualification.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of health and social care practices.
