Care Assistant – Residential Care Home

About the role
We are looking for a compassionate Care Assistant to join our team at Otterbourne Hill, a modern residential care home near Winchester. You will work alongside a dedicated staff to provide person‑centred support for older residents, helping them feel safe and valued in a homely environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver personal care that respects each resident’s choices and dignity.
- Support residents who are unwell or approaching end‑of‑life, following care plans.
- Act as a key‑worker for assigned residents, contributing to care plan reviews.
- Record observations, report changes, and communicate with the shift leader.
- Provide information and reassurance to families while maintaining confidentiality.
- Collaborate with the Activities Team to organise group and one‑to‑one activities.
- Liaise with external professionals such as GPs, social services, and therapists as needed.
Required profile
- Genuine interest in supporting older people and sharing our family‑like values.
- Good communication, reliability and a team‑oriented attitude.
- Willingness to undertake training; prior care experience is helpful but not essential.
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care is desirable but not mandatory.
Required skills
- No specific technical skills required.
What we offer
- £13.38 per hour (£13.72 with NVQ2) plus a 10 % weekend premium.
