Care Assistant – Support for Elderly & Dementia Patients

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Care Assistant to join a specialist care organisation in Woking, Surrey. You will help elderly residents and individuals living with dementia or Alzheimer’s to maintain independence and enjoy a high quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene and medication reminders.
• Provide travel escorts and support for community‑based activities, including college visits, swimming, work placements and social outings.
• Teach and reinforce independent life skills to promote confidence and autonomy.
• Document care activities and communicate any changes in residents’ condition to the senior care team.

Required profile

• A friendly, caring attitude with a genuine desire to help others.
• Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.
• Professional, reliable and flexible, able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Patience, sense of humour and a person‑centred approach.

Required skills

• Experience caring for elderly clients, preferably with dementia or Alzheimer’s.
