Care Support Manager / Senior Care Assistant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Care Support Manager to join a 32‑bed residential care home in Cullompton, Devon. The role offers a pathway to Deputy Manager and includes full training and development opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Home Manager and Deputy Manager in daily operations.
• Oversee administrative, quality, compliance and finance tasks related to care delivery.
• Lead, mentor and support the care team to ensure consistent, high‑quality care.
• Provide residential and dementia care tailored to individual resident needs.
• Monitor resident wellbeing and respond to changes promptly.
• Administer medication (training provided if required).
• Maintain accurate care records and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Participate in the on‑call rota alongside senior management.
• Promote a calm, safe and supportive environment for residents and staff.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant or in a leadership support role within a care setting.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable).
• Experience in care administration, quality, compliance or finance (advantageous).
• Caring, professional and team‑focused approach.
• Motivated to progress to a Deputy Manager role.
• Passionate about helping older adults live fulfilling lives.
