Care Team Leader

About the role
As a Care Team Leader at Consensus, you will guide a dedicated team to deliver high‑quality support for individuals with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs. You will ensure that daily care activities are person‑centred, safe and empowering.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and supervise a team of care staff on a 24‑hour residential setting.
- Plan and oversee personalised activities, leisure outings and community engagement for service users.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, safeguarding and regulatory standards.
- Facilitate effective communication, adapting approaches to each individual's needs.
- Monitor and record care delivery, reporting any concerns to senior management.
Required profile
- Previous experience in the social care sector as a Mental Health Support Worker, Care Worker, Healthcare Assistant or Care Assistant.
- Understanding of the needs of people with learning disabilities, autism or complex needs.
- Ability to lead a team, organise shifts and manage day‑to‑day operations.
- Commitment to promoting an inclusive, respectful environment.
Required skills
- Knowledge of safeguarding and health‑and‑safety procedures.
- Experience with person‑centred care planning.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
