Caretaker (Cleaning & Minor Maintenance)

About the role

We are recruiting a caretaker to maintain cleanliness, safety and basic upkeep across communal areas of our housing schemes. The role is hands‑on, combining cleaning duties with minor maintenance tasks, and offers visible results each day.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain day‑to‑day presentation, cleanliness and basic maintenance of communal and shared areas.
• Carry out minor repairs and upkeep tasks to ensure safe, tidy environments.
• Ensure health, safety and fire compliance in all work performed.
• Record activities and update internal housing management systems.
• Collaborate with housing, neighbourhood and contractor teams.
• Provide cover for other caretakers across schemes to maintain consistent standards.
• Work independently while also joining colleagues for larger or shared tasks.

• Accountable, following procedures and ensuring compliance.
• Eager to learn and develop cleaning and maintenance skills.
• Clear communicator with colleagues, contractors and customers.
• Experience working with the public and carrying out minor repairs.
• Full clean UK driving licence for travel between schemes.
