Carpenter – Exhibition Stand Builder

About the role

We are looking for an experienced carpenter to join a specialist team that designs, builds and installs bespoke exhibition stands and event environments for leading brands across the UK. The role involves working from technical drawings to manufacture, install and dismantle high‑quality structures on time and to client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret technical drawings, plans and construction specifications.
• Manufacture exhibition stands, display units, counters, staging and bespoke structures in the workshop.
• Measure, cut, shape and assemble timber, plywood, MDF, laminates and other materials.
• Install stands and event structures at venues, trade shows and exhibitions.
• Carry out finishing work such as fitting doors, trims, panels and decorative elements.
• Collaborate with project managers, designers, electricians, graphics installers and other trades.
• Modify stands and solve on‑site problems during installation.
• Dismantle and safely remove structures after events.
• Maintain tools, equipment and workshop cleanliness and comply with health and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Proven carpentry or joinery experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
• Authorization to work in the UK.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including some weekends.

Required skills

• Carpentry and joinery techniques.
• Use of woodworking machinery and hand tools.
• Reading technical drawings.
• Forklift operation.
• IPAF certification.
• PASMA certification.
