Carpenter & Joiner – Full‑time permanent role

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter & Joiner to join our team on a full‑time permanent basis, supporting a busy responsive repairs contract in Tower Hamlets. The role involves delivering high‑quality carpentry repairs and maintenance in occupied social housing, working 42.5 hours per week (8 am‑5 pm, Monday‑Friday).

Key responsibilities

• Replace and repair internal doors, frames, handles, locks and hinges.
• Fit and adjust kitchen units, worktops, cupboard doors and pelmets.
• Install or replace skirting boards, architraves and other decorative joinery.
• Repair or replace timber flooring, stair components and handrails.
• Carry out basic patch plastering and tiling as required to make good repairs.
• Record job details, materials used and completion notes using handheld devices or job sheets.
• Work professionally in residents’ homes, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
• Identify and report additional works, safeguarding concerns or property issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience in domestic carpentry repairs and maintenance.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent customer service experience in occupied homes.
