Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer (Further Education)

About the role
We are recruiting experienced and enthusiastic Carpentry & Joinery Lecturers for a range of well‑established Further Education providers in North London. You will deliver engaging lessons that develop learners' practical woodworking skills, technical knowledge and industry‑standard understanding, helping them achieve their academic and career goals.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality Carpentry & Joinery lessons.
- Teach programmes to learners across a range of levels and abilities.
- Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records in line with college requirements.
- Create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Ensure workshop activities comply with health and safety regulations.
- Support learner achievement, retention and progression.
Required profile
- Relevant qualification in Carpentry, Joinery, Construction or a related trade.
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent).
- Experience teaching Carpentry & Joinery in Further Education, Higher Education, Secondary Education or Adult Learning.
- Strong classroom and workshop management skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities.
