Casual Polo Groom – Horse Care & Stable Support

About the role

Join our dedicated team as a Casual Polo Groom and play a vital part in the care, preparation, and presentation of our polo horses. You will support daily yard operations, training sessions, and match days while upholding the highest standards of equine welfare.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily stable and field duties, including feeding, handling, grooming, and mucking out.
• Prepare horses for exercise, training, and polo matches – tack up, cool down, wash, and ensure they are fit and presentation ready.
• Assist with polo‑specific tasks such as managing multiple ponies during chukkas, pony changes, and supporting riders.
• Maintain tack, polo equipment, and yard areas to a clean, safe, and serviceable standard.
• Travel to fixtures and training venues, helping with horse transport, set‑up, and care.
• Report any ailments, injuries, or infections to the Head Groom and administer treatments as directed.
• Exercise allocated horses through lunging, hacking, schooling, or track cantering.
• Ensure arenas are tidy at the end of each day and assist with client activity preparation.

Required profile

• Proven experience working as a groom and caring for horses.
• Ability to ride to BHS Stage 2 standard.
• Clean driving licence.
• Experience working with children.
• Equine qualification (desirable).
