Catastrophic Loss Associate / Senior Associate (5+ PQE)

About the role

Our client, a nationally recognised law firm with a leading catastrophic loss practice, is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its Liverpool team. You will work on high‑value personal injury claims for Tier 1 insurer clients, benefiting from a supportive, collaborative environment and a high level of home working.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex injury claims valued between £100k and £20m.
• Handle defendant catastrophic injury matters across motor, employers’ liability and public liability.
• Draft pleadings, reports and correspondence and conduct liability investigations.
• Instruct counsel and medical experts, attend hearings and ensure compliance with court directions.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience.
• Experience in catastrophic injury, large loss or serious injury litigation, preferably on the defendant side.
• Background in employer’s liability, public liability and/or motor claims.
• Proven ability to manage high‑value claims exceeding £100k and meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication, commercial awareness and client‑facing skills.
