Catchment Operator – Water Treatment

About the role

South West Water is looking for a motivated Catchment Operator to join its Treatment team in Launceston. You will work on‑site at multiple wastewater treatment works, ensuring safe and compliant operation while protecting the environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out on‑site monitoring, routine maintenance and emergency response to keep plants operating efficiently.
• Store and handle chemicals in line with COSHH, QMS procedures and health‑and‑safety standards.
• Operate the iSCADA control system and follow scheduled business rules and procedures.
• Liaise with colleagues across the business to share information and resolve customer queries.
• Participate in a 1‑in‑5 week standby rota, including call‑outs and weekend work after training.
• Travel across the region to support other zones as required.

Required profile

• 5 GCSEs or equivalent in Maths, English and a Science subject.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Willingness to undertake standby and weekend duties.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the iSCADA control system.
• Competent use of Microsoft Office packages.
