Category and Market Development Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Category & Market Development Manager to drive growth for a leading international FMCG business expanding in the UK. You will combine strategic planning with hands‑on execution to shape category strategies, launch new products and influence commercial decisions across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial and market development strategies for several product categories.
• Create business plans, manage category budgets and track KPIs to ensure sustainable growth.
• Analyse sales data, identify revenue opportunities and optimise profitability.
• Design pricing, positioning and go‑to‑market plans to strengthen market presence.
• Coordinate product launches and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
• Adapt marketing campaigns to local requirements while maintaining brand consistency.
• Improve retail execution, product visibility and customer experience.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners across markets.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and consumer insights to spot future opportunities.
• Provide regular commercial reporting and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in Category Management, Marketing, Commercial or a similar role within FMCG or retail.
• Commercially minded with a passion for category development and brand growth.
• Strong analytical ability and data‑driven decision making.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
