Category Buyer

About the role

The Category Buyer works closely with the Category Lead to develop and execute sourcing strategies that support The Body Shop’s product portfolio and new product development. This role collaborates across functions to secure innovative, cost‑effective solutions and build strong supplier relationships that drive sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage category‑wide sourcing activities for core and new product lines, including skincare and bath & body.
• Define and implement supplier strategies, negotiating commercial terms to optimise spend.
• Identify cost‑saving and value‑creation opportunities through tendering, negotiations and supplier selection.
• Maintain cost forecasts, budget assumptions and KPI reporting for financial performance.
• Assess feasibility costs for new products to ensure commercial viability.
• Present project updates to cross‑functional teams and keep stakeholders informed.
• Monitor market trends and cost impacts that could affect product pricing.
• Develop and manage supplier relationships, evaluating performance and ensuring compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in category buying or procurement, preferably within the beauty or consumer goods sector.
• Strong analytical and commercial acumen with the ability to interpret financial data.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and influence outcomes.
