Category Buyer – Procurement & Sourcing

About the role

The Category Buyer reports to the Category Lead and is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that meet business needs. Working across the organisation, the role secures access to innovation, best‑cost solutions, favourable commercial terms and strategic supplier relationships, contributing to sustainable, profitable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage sourcing activities for core product portfolio and new product developments.
• Lead category management for finished‑goods categories such as Skincare or Bath & Body.
• Control spend within remit, identifying cost‑saving and value‑creation opportunities through negotiations, tendering and resourcing.
• Maintain cost forecasts, budget assumptions and financial trend data; report on KPIs.
• Assess feasibility costs for new products to ensure commercial viability.
• Present project status to cross‑functional teams and keep them updated.
• Monitor market trends and cost impacts that could affect product costs.
• Identify, evaluate and manage supplier relationships.

Required profile

• Experience in category management and supplier strategy development.
• Proven ability to control spend, negotiate contracts and deliver cost savings.
• Strong analytical skills for budgeting, forecasting and KPI reporting.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and present findings clearly.
• Awareness of market trends and their impact on product costs.
