Category Manager – International Sourcing

About the role

Elevation Recruitment Group is partnering with a well‑established wholesaler in Leeds to find a commercially‑driven Category Manager. You will own a key product category, shaping strategy, supplier relationships and margin performance in a fast‑moving wholesale environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies that align with overall business goals.
• Manage and grow supplier relationships across the Far East, negotiating cost, lead times and terms.
• Identify new sourcing opportunities, products and innovations to maintain competitive advantage.
• Own pricing, margin and promotional strategies to maximise profitability.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Quality, Sales and Marketing teams.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer needs to inform decisions.
• Ensure compliance with quality, ethical and regulatory standards for international sourcing.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Category Manager, Buyer or Senior Buyer in wholesale, distribution or a similar field.
• Demonstrable track record sourcing products from the Far East.
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills with a history of improving margins.
• Ability to manage complex international supplier relationships.
• Excellent analytical ability to turn data into actionable insight.
• Proactive, resilient and results‑driven attitude.
