Category Manager – IT/Tech (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Category Manager to lead the procurement of IT and indirect spend for a leading organisation. The role is fully remote with occasional travel and offers the chance to shape procurement strategy across a diverse technology portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead sourcing and procurement activities across IT and indirect spend categories.
• Manage end‑to‑end procurement processes, from tendering and supplier selection to contract award and implementation.
• Negotiate commercial agreements and oversee contractual risk.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and drive process improvements.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure procurement delivers maximum value and aligns with business objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in IT and/or indirect procurement.
• Strong knowledge of category management and strategic sourcing.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex commercial negotiations and manage contracts.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Strong analytical and project‑management capabilities.
• CIPS qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
