Category Manager

About the role

Greencore is seeking a Category Manager to act as a trusted advisor across the organisation and its customers. You will use category management processes to turn insight into strategic recommendations and action plans that improve category performance and meet joint business targets.

Key responsibilities

• Become a trusted advisor by following the category management process and delivering strategic recommendations.
• Create, analyse and interpret category reports to generate actionable insight for business and customer performance.
• Utilise insight from internal, retailer and market data to develop strategies and marketing mix plans.
• Present category recommendations to customer peers to influence decision‑making.
• Follow retailer cycles to ensure plans are assessed, approved and implemented.
• Manage the ongoing category relationship as a single point of contact.
• Collaborate with the commercial team to align category plans with customer plans.
• Build networks across merchandising, supply chain, marketing and store operations to accelerate decisions.
• Identify opportunities and develop shopper‑led selling stories.
• Develop a 2‑3 year vision and roadmap for the categories.
