Category Manager

About the role

As a Category Manager you will be at the heart of Asda's procurement transformation, overseeing a portfolio of indirect spend worth billions and helping the business achieve best‑in‑class cost efficiency. You will work across multiple categories such as Technology, Marketing, Professional Services, Property & FM, and Logistics/Supply Chain.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies that create a pipeline of delivery opportunities.
• Influence and collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive forward category initiatives.
• Provide commercial guidance and thought leadership to cross‑functional teams.
• Manage strategic relationships with suppliers and ensure alignment with sustainability and cost‑transformation goals.

Required profile

• Proven procurement expertise with a strong commercial mindset.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Experience in a relevant category role is desirable, but candidates willing to switch categories are also considered.
• Ability to operate effectively in a complex, cross‑functional environment.
