Category Manager – Potatoes (3 days a week)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Category Manager for the Potatoes segment to join our procurement team in Woking. Working three days a week, you will drive cost optimisation, ensure quality standards and support sustainable sourcing across the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the procurement strategy for the potatoes segment, balancing cost, quality and sustainability.
• Optimise the supplier base, leverage scale, harmonise specifications and standardise contractual terms.
• Identify and unlock commercial value through collaborative negotiations and market intelligence.
• Develop and deliver a sustainable and ethical sourcing action plan in partnership with the Sustainability Team.
• Lead supplier selection, performance management and relationship tailoring for the segment.
• Deliver project outcomes on time, including rationalising co‑packers and insourcing production.

Required profile

• Proactive self‑starter with strong stakeholder management across functions and geographies.
• Persuasive communicator able to challenge and influence internal teams and suppliers.
• Experience in procurement or category management within an FMCG environment.
• Background in buying ingredients or commodities is preferred.
• Relevant qualification such as CIPS is advantageous.
