Category Manager – Procurement and Supplier Strategy

About the role

Skanska UK is seeking a Category Manager to lead procurement and framework agreement management across the business. Based in Leavesden, you will help drive commercial transformation, delivering cost savings, rebates and a sustainable supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Procure and manage a portfolio of categories, optimizing value through strategic supplier selection and relationship management.
• Develop and obtain approval for category procurement strategies that align with business objectives.
• Run request‑for‑proposal (RFP) processes using a balanced scorecard approach.
• Prepare business case recommendations and secure stakeholder sign‑off.
• Draft, negotiate and execute contracts that incorporate Skanska policies and mitigate risk.
• Collaborate with suppliers to drive innovation, cost reduction, carbon reduction, safety, quality, social value and delivery speed.

Required profile

• Experience in travel and HR procurement, with knowledge of IR35 requirements.
• Proven ability to work professionally within corporate governance frameworks.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across all business levels.
• Analytical mindset to support data‑driven decision making.
• Confident stakeholder engagement and negotiation capabilities.

Required skills

• Oracle Fusion (ERP) experience.
