Category Manager – Wine

About the role

The Category Manager – Wine will own the wine portfolio for Co‑op Wholesale, shaping the range, pricing and promotions that drive growth across our retail and corporate channels. Working in a hybrid model, you will collaborate closely with buying teams and suppliers to deliver a market‑leading assortment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the wine category and drive performance across all channels.
• Partner with the Senior Category Manager to develop range, pricing and promotional strategies.
• Monitor category performance against targets and adjust tactics as needed.
• Analyse data and market insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with Group Commercial and Logistics (GCL) teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to generate ideas and mutual success.

Required profile

• Experience in wholesale buying or category management for regulated product categories.
• Knowledge of buying practices with a willingness to develop further.
• Proven track record of shaping and delivering effective trading strategies.
• Strong sales, negotiation and supplier management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to translate data and insights into actionable improvements.
