Category Specialist – Public Sector Procurement

We are looking for an experienced Category Specialist to join a forward‑thinking public‑sector procurement team. The role offers the chance to shape how public services are delivered, creating long‑term value and positive social impact.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of complex procurement projects across multiple service areas.
• Design tailored procurement strategies that drive innovation, service improvement and cost savings.
• Run transparent, fair and compliant procurement processes.
• Collaborate with internal partners to shape service specifications and commercial models.
• Conduct market engagement and analysis to inform strategy.
• Support development of a self‑service procurement model for lower‑value activity.
• Contribute to organisational priorities such as social value and sustainability.
• Help improve procurement governance and processes.
• Share knowledge to build commercial capability across teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering complex procurement projects independently.
• Current role in public‑sector procurement with knowledge of PA23.
• Expert understanding of public procurement regulations and internal governance.
