Caterer – HMP Leicester Prison

About the role

This is a unique catering position within the secure environment of HMP Leicester. You will work in a professional industrial kitchen, preparing nutritious meals for inmates while supporting their rehabilitation through skill development.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee offenders in the preparation and cooking of quality, nutritional meals for the entire prison.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene regulations in an industrial kitchen setting.
• Support offenders in learning new culinary skills and gaining qualifications.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, including HACCP procedures.
• Work a flexible shift pattern that may include evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Required profile

• Level 2 certificate in food production (or equivalent).
• Level 2 food hygiene certificate.
• Familiarity with current health, safety and hygiene regulations for kitchen work.
• Demonstrated competency in an industrial kitchen environment.
• Confident spoken English.
