Catering Assistant – Part‑time School Kitchen Role

About the role

Join HCL as a Catering Assistant at Templewood Primary School, working five hours per week during term time. You will help deliver safe, nutritious meals to children while supporting a team that values safeguarding and high standards of food hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, cooking, and serving meals to pupils.
• Maintain food handling and hygiene standards in line with health and safety regulations.
• Receive, check, and organise supplier deliveries.
• Carry out washing‑up duties and keep the kitchen and dining area clean.
• Represent HCL by upholding its values and safeguarding commitments.

Required profile

• Commitment to safeguarding children and young people.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 certification (preferred).
• Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of key allergens (preferred).
• Team‑player attitude with strong punctuality.
• Customer‑focused service mindset and drive to succeed.
