Catering Assistant – Part‑time, Term‑time (10 hrs/week)

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Catering Assistant to join our team at Newtown Primary School. The role is part‑time, 10 hours per week, and runs only during school terms, giving you all holidays off.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, cooking and serving meals to children.
• Maintain food handling and hygiene standards at all times.
• Follow health and safety regulations in the kitchen and dining area.
• Receive, check and organise supplier deliveries.
• Carry out washing‑up duties and keep the kitchen and dining area clean.
• Represent HCL and uphold its values in every interaction.

Required profile

• Commitment to safeguarding children and young people.
• Food hygiene level 2 certification (preferred).
• Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of key allergens (preferred).
• Team‑player with strong punctuality and customer service focus.
