Catering Assistant – Part‑time, Term‑time (Cambridge)

About the role

Join HCL as a Catering Assistant at Meldreth Primary School, working 12.5 hours per week during school terms. You will help deliver safe, nutritious meals to children while supporting a team that values safeguarding above all.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, cooking and serving meals to pupils.
• Maintain food handling and hygiene standards at all times.
• Follow health and safety regulations in the kitchen and dining area.
• Receive, check and organise supplier deliveries.
• Carry out washing‑up duties and keep the kitchen and dining area clean.
• Represent HCL by embodying its values and safeguarding commitment.

Required profile

• Passionate about providing quality meals for children.
• Driven, reliable and eager to develop within the catering sector.
• Committed to safeguarding and willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
