Central Appointments Co-ordinator

About the role

The Central Appointments team at Ilkeston Community Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic, organised and flexible Co‑ordinator to manage outpatient appointments across five community sites. The role supports multi‑specialty clinics and ensures patients receive timely care.

Key responsibilities

• Manage waiting lists and schedule patient appointments.
• Process Referral to Treatment (RTT) pathways.
• Answer telephone queries from patients, clinicians and staff.
• Provide flexible support to meet service demands, covering 24.5‑hour or 32‑hour weekly posts.

Required profile

• Confident communicator able to liaise with clinicians, clinical staff and patients.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to multi‑task under pressure.
• Flexibility to adapt workload to service needs.
• Knowledge of the 18‑week referral‑to‑treatment policy is advantageous.
• Ability to work both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
