Chartered Building Surveyor – Midlands

About the role

We are looking for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join a leading building consultancy serving clients across the Midlands. The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio, diagnosing defects, preparing costed schedules of works and overseeing repair projects for insurers, loss adjusters, policyholders and private clients.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed defect diagnosis surveys and produce costed schedules of works.
• Oversee repair projects from inception to completion, ensuring high‑quality outcomes.
• Manage a diverse caseload for loss adjusters, insurers, policyholders and private clients.
• Ensure projects comply with CDM regulations and JCT contract requirements.
• Maintain exceptional customer service standards and uphold professional ethics.
• Collaborate effectively with team members while working independently when required.
• Adhere to client contractual requirements, SLA’s and KPI’s.

Required profile

• Experienced Building Surveyor with solid knowledge of building surveying principles.
• Insurance claims experience desirable.
• RICS or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and investigative abilities.
• Proven experience with JCT contracts, managing variations, payments and milestones.
• Full UK driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
