Chartered Engineer - Marine Infrastructure Design

About the role

We are seeking a Chartered Civil Engineer with marine infrastructure design experience to join a national engineering design firm. The role involves delivering marine engineering projects, including ports and offshore renewable energy infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design and structurally assess marine infrastructure.
• Collaborate with colleagues, clients, contractors and stakeholders, providing technical guidance.
• Review designs and drawings for compliance with standards, contractual requirements and client expectations.
• Ensure work complies with Health & Safety regulations, including CDM requirements.
• Engage with construction contracts and professional appointments, liaising with clients, stakeholders and local authorities.
• Use engineering analysis and design software such as AutoCAD, maintaining and developing technical skills.
• Participate in design reviews, site meetings and inspections.
• Deliver work within agreed project budgets and programme deadlines.
• Prepare and manage technical documentation, calculations and drawings according to company standards.

Required profile

• Minimum three years post‑graduate experience in civil or marine engineering.
• Degree‑qualified (BEng or MEng) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities with a proactive problem‑solving approach.
