Chartered Town Planner – Hybrid, Preston

About the role

We are seeking a Chartered Town Planner to join our growing chartered surveyors and planning consultancy near Preston. The role offers genuine autonomy, a varied caseload and a supportive environment that values work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of planning applications from submission through to determination.
• Advise clients on development potential, planning risk and strategy.
• Prepare and oversee planning statements, appeals and supporting documents.
• Lead site appraisals and represent clients with local planning authorities.
• Support and mentor junior members of the planning team.

Required profile

• MRTPI chartered, with an RTPI‑accredited degree or master’s.
• Proven track record in private consultancy, taking applications through to determination.
• Confidence in managing your own caseload and dealing directly with clients.
• Strong written, analytical and communication skills with good commercial judgement.
• Full driving licence.
