Chef – Care Home Kitchen (Full‑time, Temp)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Chef to join the kitchen team at Windmill Lodge Care Home in Lytham St. Annes. You will prepare and serve nutritious, high‑quality meals for residents, supporting their wellbeing in a supportive, person‑centred environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present meals that meet individual dietary needs and nutritional requirements.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety and presentation in line with regulatory guidelines.
• Contribute to menu planning and kitchen organisation to ensure smooth daily service.
• Work collaboratively with the care team to deliver consistent, enjoyable meals.
• Adhere to a consistent schedule with no late evenings or split shifts, working alternate weekends.

Required profile

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 Food Hygiene certification or equivalent, or working towards a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Experience in a professional kitchen environment.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Positive, reliable approach and willingness to work alternate weekends.

Required skills

• Food hygiene knowledge (City & Guilds 706/1, 706/2).
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
