Chef – Care Home Kitchen

About the role

HC-One is looking for a dedicated Chef to join the kitchen team at its Chandlers Ford care home. You will prepare and serve wholesome, homemade meals that meet nutritional standards and bring comfort to residents each day.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook daily meals for residents, ensuring quality and presentation.
• Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in line with HACCP procedures.
• Manage stock levels, order supplies and minimise waste.
• Collaborate with care staff to tailor menus to residents’ dietary needs.
• Keep kitchen areas clean, organised and compliant with health regulations.

Required profile

• Recognised catering qualification (S/NVQ Level 2 in Catering & Hospitality or Professional Cookery).
• Valid Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Experience working in a care‑home or similar food‑service environment.
• Ability to recognise and act on safeguarding concerns.

• HACCP knowledge and implementation.
