Chef de Partie – Modern British Gastro Pub

About the role

We are seeking a talented Chef de Partie to join the kitchen brigade of a highly regarded gastro‑pub with rooms in Grays, Essex. The venue is award‑winning and focuses on modern British cuisine using the finest seasonal, locally sourced produce.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and run an assigned section throughout service, ensuring dishes are prepared, cooked and presented to a consistently high standard.
• Collaborate closely with senior chefs to maintain quality, consistency and adherence to the menu.
• Support the training and development of junior kitchen staff.
• Uphold all food hygiene, health and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef de Partie in fine‑dining, Rosette‑rated or premium gastro‑pub environments.
• Passion for fresh, seasonal produce and modern British cuisine.
• Excellent organisational abilities and the capacity to thrive under pressure.
• Positive attitude, strong team ethic and experience across multiple kitchen sections.

Required skills

• Proficiency in preparing and plating modern British dishes.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
