Chef Manager – School Catering

About the role

Join Elior’s Taylor Shaw brand at Midhurst Rother College to create fresh, nutritious meals that support students’ focus, energy and wellbeing. You will lead a small catering team, ensuring high‑quality food service throughout the school term.

Key responsibilities

• Create and deliver up to 400 covers of fresh, nutritious meals each day.
• Lead, manage and motivate a catering team of seven staff members.
• Take full ownership of the catering operation, guaranteeing smooth and efficient service.
• Manage stock, ordering and budgets to meet operational targets.
• Champion compliance by overseeing food safety, hygiene and quality standards.

Required profile

• A passion for delivering high‑quality meals and consistent service.
• Proven experience in a Chef Manager‑type role.
• Experience within an education catering operation is advantageous.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop the team.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Sound knowledge of food hygiene, safety and compliance standards.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets, stock and catering performance.
